What is RNA interference? What are siRNAs ( short interfering RNAs)?

I got these terms while reading an article. I have posted the article in the forum (open category - Musculoskeletal stem cell). To view the topic click the link http://www.medicozone.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42

The wikipedia article explains it all. siRNAs basically signal mRNA degradation. They are short strands of RNA that are complementary to parts of specific mRNA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RNA_interference
